Welcome back to Behind the Magic! The big news this month is that Hudson Scenic Studio will be building the sets for the Gamesters' show, Manhattan Mayhem. Hudson Scenic is the premiere Broadway scenery company. Theater designers consider Hudson Scenic to be the best. Six of the last twelve Tony Awards were awarded to shows built and painted by Hudson. Their sets appear in major New York shows like The Producers, Lion King, Les Miserables, and Cats, and even the Las Vegas based Blue Man Group.

 Joe Holiday and Sharon have performed in casinos, theme parks, and cruise ships all over the world. They live in Atlantic City and have really helped to make the Gamesters feel at home while they are producing Manhattan Mayhem. Joe and Sharon are currently performing at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh, PA (which is ranked among "The Top Ten Amusement Parks in the World", by the Travel Channel). By the end of this summer, more than 1 million people will have seen Joe and Sharon performing their newest show "Extreme Illusions". It combines today's hottest Extreme Sports such as BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, and Wakeboard Riding. Joe and Sharon are currently working on taking this show to yet another big venue next summer!
JOE: I remember about five years ago I watched a video of the Gamesters' act for the first time. Sebastian Goldstein, who is a mutual friend of ours, showed me the tape and told me that someday they were going to be BIG. After watching the tape I couldn't wait to get a chance to see their unique act in person.
SHARON: The first time that I ever heard of the Gamesters, Joe was yelling for me to come into the living room to see their picture on the cover of MUM Magazine. I was amazed by the picture and couldn't wait to see their act.
JOE: For the next three years, our schedules would never coincide. Ironically enough, we were both at the IBM National Convention in Minneapolis in 1997, and we never met. Then in the summer of 1999, at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, Sharon and I finally got a chance to see their act and meet the guys "behind the magic". (Get it!?!)
SHARON: Being a dancer, the first thing that I wanted to ask them was if they did their own "choreography", because I was amazed by how fluid their movement was.
JOE: Anyway, it was worth the wait. Doug and Seth have not only become great friends, but they have also been able to give us guidance and direction in business. They have helped us develop concepts for some of the new magic that we are performing today.
SHARON: A couple of weeks after meeting them, I actually introduced Doug to his girlfriend by passing him a note after the show. :-)
JOE: Not only are these guys talented, but they are without a doubt "the nicest guys in the business." If you ever have a chance to see them live, DO IT!
SHARON: I value their opinions professionally as well as personally. I definitely have "Gamester Love"!!!!!

 This month we have a unique recommendation. Last year the Gamesters received a call regarding the legality of a new trademark for "Gamesters". It was a new fruit snack from Nabisco, and they're actually really good!
You can find them in your local grocery store. It's great to see "Gamesters" written on a product. We're sure there will be MANY more Gamesters products. Just wait...
