Welcome to Behind the Magic! We hope to see you here every month as this site develops, along with the Gamesters' popularity. The big news this month is that the Gamesters are producing a new show that is currently in final negotiation to appear in Atlantic City later this year. We hope this will be the start of a new era for the Gamesters, and we'll let you know about developments in the show right here on Behind the Magic.
This photo is from a television shoot on a recent trip to Thailand. International television studios are always a "fly by the seat of your pants" experience, and you often need to take matters into your own hands and show the director the best way to tape your performance. Here, you can see the Gamesters double checking camera angles before the shot.
Nathan Burton and Sarah are among the Gamesters' closest friends. They are so creative that they are inspirational, and their input has been vital to the development of the Gamesters' career.
Nathan and Sarah just returned from a year-long run in Korea, where they vanished an elephant on stage every night in the show. They are currently starring in Showgirls of Magic in Las Vegas, and they will be heading to Reno in May to star in Dick Foster's Whisper at Harrah's. Don't miss an opportunity to see them!
NATHAN: "I met Doug Leferovich at Tannens Magic Camp in the summer of 89'... This is before the Gamesters even existed. I was a little boy from Arkansas, and Doug was one of the few guys who was friendly to me and a lot of fun to hang out with. I didn't meet the Gamesters until a few years later at the Desert Magic Seminar, where I saw a promotional photo of Doug balanced on Seth's finger."
"Doug and Seth are among my closest friends, but we never see each other. I think it works out to once every 2 or 3 years that we get to hang out! I talk to them more then their girlfriends, I think. The Gamesters always have time to talk to me and help out with new ideas. I truly believe this is only the start for the Gamesters and that their new show is only the first chapter in the Gamesters' book."
SARAH: "I first met the Gamesters at the World's Greatest Magic 3 taping and instantly fell in love with them! My next Gamester experience was about 3 months later: Nathan was in the shop every day working on a new illusion, and I was going stir crazy sitting in Arkansas. So, I flew out to L.A. to visit a girlfriend. Even though they were busy, the guys still found time to entertain both me and my girlfriend by making us dinner, taking us shopping, and out to the Magic Castle... We had a blast! I have a feeling Nathan is still a little jealous of all the fun we had!"
"The four of us have stayed close through the years by e-mail and tons of phone calls. (It's rare a day goes by that Nathan hasn't spoken to at least one of them) They are the kind of guys you know no matter what you will always stay friends with. Magic may be our common interest but our friendship goes far beyond that. What can I say, they're my boys and I love them!"
"One side note: Seth makes a killer bruschetta! If you ever get the chance, you have to try it!"

There are some amazing CDs out there that few people know about. Some are just inspirational, but others can provide great music to use for a performance. These two CDs are full of hidden gems from gangster-themed TV shows and movies. The CDs are titled Crime Jazz: Music in the First Degree and Crime Jazz: Music in the Second Degree, and they're published by Rhino Entertainment.
